It's Dogwood Festival week!

Although the opening night of the Dogwood Festival was cancelled due to wet and raw weather conditions, tomorrow promises a high of 70 degrees, perfect Dogwood weather!

I've been told that the nationally renowned Cat's Pajamas will be on stage to wow the public.

Don't bother cooking, bring the family and enjoy the food, rides, and show.

The fair opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m.

Have the residents of Second Avenue received their food and ride vouchers yet? We usually receive them on the Sunday or Monday of the Dogwood week. I called Katie Ciruelos, "Dogwood President" and left a message for her asking about this, but have yet to receive a reply. I certainly hope that this small perk has not been forgotten this year. Love Dogwood as we do, it's a bit of an inconvenience for local residence and the vouchers were always a nice token of appreciation from the Jaycees to the local residents.

Hi, Marifran!

I can only speak for my family.

We received 2 parking permits.

Perhaps they forgot?

Marifran, we received our notice of Neighbor Appreciation Night from the Jaycees this evening.

Yes - we got ours yesterday as well. We did not recieve a call back from from Katie Ciruelos, but I did speak with other Jaycees about this and they assured me that we'd recieve our neighbor passes shortly. they were in our mailbox last night.

I got a nice call from Kaite today and she mentioned that the Jaycees typically stagger the communications, for max. impact. I lost my parking passses last year, so I can appreciate that.
The Jaycees are all over the park on Dogwood week....if you have a question, just ask them!

What happened to the Holy Ghost stand this year? I saw them at council say they are broke but why are they not selling food. Everyone in the community misses that stand and walked and walked looking for the annual treat of a meal for a dollar.
How sad. I saw the space they were always in but it looked like no one showed up.

Why did the they pull out as all the ladies who always worked it for years told us they thought the stand would be there forever as many want to work but the new leadership is stopping all food sales that are for community events? The Kimberton and Town community sure love that food.. yum yum...

Anonymous, my entire family was extremely disappointed that the booth wasn't filled with holupki and halushki. We normally buy from Holy Ghost's stand every night!

We even had visitors who came down with the intention of buying 6 dozen in order to freeze them for later.

Just not the same without them. :(

Does anyone know if Monday's family night was rescheduled? Originally, there was two: Monday & Wednesday, but Monday's was rain-out. The paper mentioned it might be rescheduled.

Just as an FYI, spoke with Katie C tonight at the fair and she assured me that she was not trying to ignore my or any other initial concerns about the Neighbor Appreciation Night. As I posted earlier, all neighbor passes were received on Tuesday evening. Thanks again to Katie and Jaycees for thinking of the residents!

Dogwood parade day was a pleasant mix of sunshine and breezes, and the parade itself was fun to watch.

The forecasted rain even held off until just around closing time!

A big "THANK YOU" goes out to the Phoenixville Jaycees for another wonderful Dogwood Festival week!
