Holy Ghost Church back to Planning Commission

Frankly, I'm puzzled.

I have just one question.

By what authority is the applicant appearing before the Planning Commission?

The Planning Commission meets Thursday, May 14, 2009, 7 p.m., at borough hall.

This has to stop. Why is the tax payers of this town and leaders allowing Evans to use his position to ignore the facts and honorable judges ruling.

The officers of the church sued the Saint Nicholas Brothehood base on the post you have a - and lost.

Now the officers of the church call many meetins as the Saint Nicholas Broherhood to the exent of naming John Ely as President of both entites. This is illegal, poor strategy and wasting boroug time and church money.

The HUD fundin was denied. The planning commission went on record that they are OPPOSED TO THE DEVELOPMENT. The minutes of the church regarding the sale specifically state on tape that if HUD is not approved OR if planning commission did not approve THE DEAL WAS NULL AND VOID.

Whoever signed the agreement of sale is at risk or misrepresenting the owners.

The borough council is at risk of negligence in not using due diligence in their research on hearing this topic after proof of ownership was provided along with petitions from the town opposed to this development.

The only people for this are the residents of St Peters Place who were bussed over and told how to vote.

Where are the traffic studies Evans had for this corner and extentions of Church Street?

What are results of the effect on this to the current traffic problems?

Why was the historical impact study and the environmental-water runoff studies not available to view nor distributed when requested?

Why is the Holy Ghost Church Board, as posted at the Acme, Gateway and Phoenixville Hospital, having a meeting the end of May to create / revise bylaws for the St. Nicholas Brotherhood under the direction of John Ely, when John Ely is the President of the church?

Why are the original bylaws of the Saint Nicholas Brotherhood suddenly missing? Why are the board members of the Holy Ghost Church continueing to put pressure on the people who have the power to stop the sale by refusing communion?

Why have the members of the church allowed the officers of the church, to spend the building funds in excess of property sale figure - on expenses and legal fees?

The founders and benefactors of this church bought the land and protected it as the judge ruled, for church use. Nothing good will come of the property if you bulldoze and dig down for this half attempt at an addition, on top of graves.

Encouraging the division of families and people of the town over a HUD Housing Project at the best part of town is a bad idea.

COME TO COUNCIL MEETINGS... SPEAK YOUR MIND... TELL THE BOROUGH AND PLANNING COMMISSION HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS PROJECT! THE COURTS HAVE RULED BUT REZONING CAN CHANGE THE FUTURE OF THIS PRETTY PROPERTY WE HAVE AND THERE WILL BE NO TURNING BACK ONCE THEY BREAK GROUND.

THE CHURCH WILL FIGHT THIS AND SPEND MONEY UNTIL THEY HAVE NO MORE AS THE LEADERSHIP IS NOT ALLOWING THEM TO GIVE UP AS THEY DO NOT OBEY THE JUDGES RULING.

I paid too much to the church for them to waste it on this bad project. I paid even more to the defense of the brotherhood.

PRAY THIS WILL NOT GO THROUGH.

PLEASE COME SPEAK FOR THOSE OF US WITH FAMILIY THAT WON'T ALLOW US TO GET INVOLVED. PLEASE

The sad part is that church members cannot attend planning meetings or speak out without being disciplined. The funny thing is that the president of the church sent a letter to select members about a special meeting then threatened legal action if it was printed or copied for others. I though this was the Good Old US of A. So we can't speak freely, we can't print what should be informaton shared by all members of a church and if you don't agree, you will be eliminated. Does this alarm you? Is this somewhere out of history?? KGB?? KKK? HGC??? They are so focused on getting this approved, they are wearing blinders when it comes to the members. I hear while HGC members are dwindling rapidly, other congrations are delighted with the new members.
As the bullying continues, those of gentler spirit and purer agendas have found it necessary to look elsewhere to find inner peace and meditation with God. Please citizens of Phoenixville, take up this cause and tell the planning commission that this is wrong.

LOLOL! Tell me this isn't still going on???
I am guessing the two collars just assume they are above the law and listen to a 'higher power', like in the hot dog commercials.

This is getting funny now, as it appears their pride just won't let them give it up! Laurel and Hardy couldn't have staged a better show.

Yes it seems in this case for some, the higher power would be the entitity whom beneifts when the land is all sold, and the church can not afford to pay it's bills. Interestingly enough a byalaw was added to ensure this entity would be the sole benefactor by the current leadership. However, how can this be if the assets do not belong to that very entity which are not able to pay their bills without continueing to use interest and principal from a restricted fund?

What does Mayor Scoda and those running for Mayor feel about putting HUD housing on this corner?

What - if polled, do the other businesses and politicians feel about the impact to the revitalization efforts if this moves forward on Holy Ground?

I am a business owner and can not believe this will every happen.

Many at the chamber meetings do not want to rock the boat but agree
that this spot is not appropriate for many reasons.

Someone's going to hell over this mess.

As I said, Karen, we can pray for this congregation/community but how can we assure them that they are being misinformed. HGOC's first request for an injuction was denied by the court on October 31, 2008. Where was this reported? On March 5, 2009 the judge decided against HGOC - dismissing the case brought by HGOC against St. Nicholas. Yet somehow this was spun to mean that since the case was dismissed, the OK was given to proceed as if nothing had happened. Well, the people need to know that indeed something happened. What happened is that St. Nicholas brotherhood generously, agreeably allowed the use of the land by the HGOC and that the church owns no land, so there is no adversarial issue for the courts to decide on. Oh, by the way, that 99 year lease still applies.
So yes pray for these people but those of us who souls are not dependent on this church organization need to be alarmed that the board of HGOC and the developer are trying to use the influence of federal officials to intercede with HUD. Apparently HUD has rules and a part of its organization also checks on titles submitted with the claims made by developers.
If you are a member of this church you can still contact your elected federal officials and tell them openly and without fear of reprisal what you think of these goings on.

What exactly is the motive for this whole deal anyway?
Numerous checks and balances are coming up against this project and still they carry on as if all is well. These people are not above the law, but it seems they are also not above doing whatever it takes to get what they want here. Why?

Rumor has it HUD turned down the application for Starr and Bridge Street project. Is this true?

Since HUD funding is needed, would the other projects Evans is working on benefit from the funding if it won't be provided due to the ownership matter and perpetual ownership lease?

Keep digging as it seems the dirt is thicker as you go deeper.

If it is true HUD rejected the project, I'm sure it doesn't matter. The players will just keep going on and on and on with the plan, pretending the rejection isn't true either. LOLOL

9:15 - hate to say it but you are right on with that statement.

One would think all this negative energy and focus would have had them a beautiful new educational center, up in the back area, as intended by plans we had presented to Father John back almost ten years ago!
